World Children’s Day celebration

World Children’s Day celebration
In celebration of World Children’s Day, Preventive Education and Training Unit of the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB) organized a fun filled programme for over 1000 children who visited Dehiwala Zoological Garden on the 1st of October 2019. Professor Saman Abeysinghe- Chairman of the NDDCB, Mr. S. Aloka Bandara- Director General (Acting) of the NDDCB and Mr. Mahendra Abeywardhana- Director, Mahaweli Authority graced the event.  Exciting gifts and tokens were distributed to the children after fun games they enjoyed.
We extend our gratitude to Excise Department of Sri Lanka, Mahaweli Authority, Sri Lanka Mobitel e- channeling, 1998 batch of the Vishaka Vidyalaya, Sri Lanka Army, Urban Council of Mount Lavinea, Brandix Apperal Limited, LOLC, World Vision, and Astron Limited who made their generous contribution for the gifts shared with children.

1. National Dangerous Drugs Control Board
The National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB) is established under the purview of Ministry of Defense and its establishment Act; NDDCB Act No. 11 of 1984 empowers the Board for formulating and reviewing the National Policy on prevention and control of drug of abuse. Moreover, drug related information collection from all of the related agencies, coordination of agencies involved in the prevention and control of drug abuse, promoting treatment and rehabilitation, conducting research and maintaining and liaison with regional and international organizations are stipulated as core functions of the NDDCB.(Read more)

International Narcotic Control Board (INCB) mission to Sri Lanka

International Narcotic Control Board (INCB) mission was held in Sri Lanka from 25 to 28 March 2018.The mission was conducted by Professor Richard Mattick, member of the Board, and Ms. Ha Fung NG(Cilla) of the INCB secretariat. The last INCB mission visited Sri Lanka in 2002. The mission was organized and conducted by the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board (NDDCB), Ministry of Defence. (Read More)
